Sarah is a senior at Lakeside High School and has a scholarship to play lacrosse in college. She was looking to improve her strength and overall conditioning to help prepare her for her final year in high school and then college. She went through our on-ramp program and then jumped right into classes. We worked with her a little on her nutrition to ensure she's getting enough food to fuel her workouts, which is critical. But the most important factor in her success is her consistency - staying on course with nutrition and consistently coming to classes. Here's her story:
"I have been doing CrossFit for over 2 months now and I absolutely love it! I have lost over 7 lbs, trimmed 3 inches off my waist and 4 inches off my hips. I have seen drastic improvements in my lacrosse game. My speed, agility, and strength have gotten 10x better, and my 2 mile time dropped 3 minutes. I am lifting more than I ever thought I could! I had a previous shoulder injury, but thanks to the coaches at CFA, I have been able to strengthen it and lift more. I have become a stronger and healthier person thanks to CrossFit Augusta!"
Functional fitness is all about performing better - whether you're playing a sport or just trying to live a better life. The movements performed in our CrossFit classes accomplish that goal. When you combine that with the proper nutrition plan, results are sure to follow.
